He is 18 months old, so I have deemed him old enough to have some responsibilities.
When I do the laundry, he gets to drop clothes in the washer, put them in the dryer,or push the basket into the living room.
He loves to sweep, so I've given in and will let him push the broom around.
Before he goes to bed Stephen will take him to the living room and then to his room and have him pick up/put away every single toy that is out of place. Stephen started doing this of his own accord and I am very happy to sit back and let them work together.
When I'm unloading the dishwasher, he gets to put away the tupperware. He has his own designated cabinet that he can play in and he's pretty good not to get into anything that he's not supposed to. He knows immediately if he has something he's not allowed to have (ex: cellphones). He'll run up to me with it saying "Der-go der-go" trying to get rid of it, lol.
In the first pic he's flying around his little airplane. He copies Stephen and makes plane noises.
In the second one we're playing "Itsy-Bitsy Spider". He'll sing it in his own language and do some of the hand motions. Chelsea taught him this.
In the third he's crushing his brother.
He's also been better at going on the potty. He doesn't tell me he needs to go, but I've been able to catch him more often before he does a #2. If I ask him "do you need to potty?" he usually runs back to the bathroom, so I guess that's better than nothing eh? He's making the connection that if he goes in the potty he gets an M&M. So as soon as he hears the "plop" his little mouth will pop open, lol. Hopefully he doesn't carry that habit into adulthood.
My sister, Chrissy, just bought her first house. Me, Sam, Chelsea, and Jackson went to visit her a few weekends ago. She has a great back yard that the kids loved to run around in. And the weather was cool enough that I actually enjoyed being outside too. And after taking lots of pictures of the kids I didn't take one picture of her house, duh. Here's some pics from our visit.
Crazy haired baby!
Ok, I saved the best for last! Stephen dressed Sam on Sunday and this is what he ended up wearing:
Regarding my pregnancy, it has gone very well. I've realized that this pregnancy has been even easier than Sam's. I was nauseous in the beginning with this one, but my back hasn't been aching (yet) and I haven't hit the miserable stage (yet). I've also been sleeping somewhat better this time around. I'm not in denial though, I know the super uncomfortableness will probably come very soon.
Still no name for this little guy. We are having such a hard time agreeing on something!
I had a small freak out last night and told Stephen we didn't have anything for the baby! (Blast you crazy hormones, sometimes you get the best of me!) I did a google search for one of those "things you need for your baby" list and realized we have all of the big stuff and just lack a few essentials, lol. Everything we had for Sam I've saved, so he is good to go. It's me that's not ready!
Stephen said that this weekend we can transition Sam to the other bedroom and get both of their rooms set up and ready. That'll make me feel a lot better. My thinking is that I want Sam used to the new room, so that he doesn't think he is being replaced by the baby. We'll see how it all goes and if we don't get it finished, oh well, life will continue on.
I'm also preparing myself mentally for the task ahead. For those of you who don't know (and I'm thinking everyone that reads this blog does know) I'm home birthing. So, as opposed to my previous epidural hospital birth I've done quite a bit of preparation for this birth and am still preparing. I'm really looking forward to the birth and will definitely be blogging about it once it happens and I'm functioning again.
I'm healthy and the baby is very, very active. I've been so happy not going to the doctor (I stopped going at 20 weeks). No needles, no prodding, no invasive checks. Ugh, hated all of that. I never realized that I actually had options when it came to all of that. This could quite possibly be why I've enjoyed this pregnancy more. I have had no anxiety or fears about what's going on with my body or the birth itself. Laugh all you want and call me crazy, but I'm actually excited and looking forward to the whole experience.
Alrighty, there's ya one seriously long update. Hopefully I'll update again before this baby decides to come. 32 days until my due date....

loved the long post and all the pics!!
You did inspire me. I was feeling bad for not updating for so long and like I wouldn't be able to overcome the huge task at hand, but you proved it was possible and kicked my butt into gear! THANKS! We really need to get together next time we're over that way.
