Both boys went down for naps just now, so I have a few minutes to post. I'm actually just wanting to type an update on the boys for myself. Here's whats going on with them:
Sam:
Will be 2 in 18 days! I have a party to plan. I think he'll have a lot of fun this time around. Last year he was rather cranky, didn't know what the heck was going on, and just needed to go to bed. This year he does well staying up later and he gets very excited when we have people over, so I'm pretty excited for his excitement.
He is talking so much. Still very "gibber-y" but I can understand him the majority of the time. If I don't know what he's saying he's very good to go point out what he's talking about. There's only been a few times where I couldn't figure it out and he just moved on to something else.
Some more words he's been saying:
"Caco" - Taco, everytime we pass a Taco Bell
"Ride'em ride'em" - it's a song we sing when he's on his rocking horse.
"Kiki" - Cookie
"Cack-kuh" - Cracker
"Na-nail" - Snail
"Too" - Stool
"Bish" - Fish
"Bood" - Food
"Be-ah" - Bear
"Ah-pull" - Apple
"Nuuuh" - Nut
"Beeee" - Bean
"Might-a-might" - Vitamin
"Volvo" - Flower
"Knee-toe" - Knees and toes, it's a song too
"Moooo" - Moon
"Tah" - Star
"Rah" - Rock
"Tick" - Stick
"Pie-co" - Pinecone
"Man" - Amen
He is also saying a few peoples names. He says "Jackson", "Chelsea", "Mimi", "Curtis" and sometimes "Kerri". If I'm hollering for Steve he'll start yelling "Teve!", that's weird.
Liam:
Is 15 1/2 weeks. I had actually lost count and had to look at a calender. Good grief! That went by so fast!
He is my little beastly child. Mmm, so fat and chunky!
Liam is such a happy baby. We are still going strong with breastfeeding and by the looks of him he isn't lacking. I don't plan on starting him on baby food until 6 months, which is what I ended up doing with Sam because he didn't want it at 4.
I'm just not ready to start solids, it is so much extra work. However I am looking forward to making baby food again. I always had a lot of fun with that.
About 3 weeks ago I got my butt in gear and started doing Babywise with him. (I started Sam at 5 weeks). Oh my goodness, what a difference a consistent schedule makes. I thought we were doing well, but after implementing a schedule for him I didn't realize how tired I was and how little I had been getting done around the house. It took about 2 1/2 days of crying it out (CIO) at nap times and then all of a sudden he just started going to sleep. It's not like that everytime, he typically has to cry a little, but it is so nice that he's sleeping longer naps and just seems way happier over all. Which makes me way happier!
He was taking 20 minute naps randomly throughout the day before, now he takes several hour long naps. He was already sleeping well at night. Pretty soon I'm going to drop the night feeding, which will be accompanied with another round of CIO, but it'll be worth it once everyone is happily sleeping all night.
And I am looking forward to having my room back.
Which brings me to another post......
