I have felt ridiculously overwhelmed the past month. So many life events and everyday events have been going on. Moving into our first home, baby showers, a wedding, and several birthdays.
I don't have the time or the will to situate cords to plug in my camera in order to upload pictures, so you'll just have to do without for now.
As of this moment Sam is taking a nap and I'm bouncing Liam (with my foot) in the bouncy seat that he has almost completely rolled himself out of. Beast child, I knew it was going to happen.
Stephen even referred to him as "warrior" today, which is what his name means.
Liam is 6 months old and as much of a beastly warrior he is, Liam is my little angel boy. Agh, he's such a good, sweet little guy. He's a snuggler which I love, Sam likes his personal space which I totally relate with.
Liam is almost always smiling a full faced, open mouthed smile. If he's not happy then I know something is definitely wrong. He makes lots of noise too; always squealing, chirping, screaming, cooing.
He has two bottom teeth coming in and on top of that he's been scooting/pushing himself around the living room for about a month now. He also puts everything in his mouth and drools insane amounts. Gross. Sam didn't do that at all.
I started him on solids last week because he was starving! The kid lunges at any food whether it's his or not. We've skipped the "1st" foods and are pretty much gobbling down "2nds". Yes I am making my own baby food again. I will not spend the money on some gross smelling, processed junk. We're still breastfeeding and doing well with it. My supply got noticeably lower a few weeks ago, but water, Fenugreek and extra pumpings helped boost me back up. (Yeah, you totally needed to know all of that).
We have also gone full-time cloth diapers. We've been full-time with Sam, then once Liam started wearing them I wasn't able to keep up with the laundry. 14 diapers between the two of them was not enough, so I was given the go-ahead to order more and now we've got a sufficient stash. I've been banned from disposables (which I'm fine with) because of the infertily-causing junk in them. For real, google it. They're ugly anyways. On top of that I've been occasionally sitting Liam on the potty. I'm hoping he'll pick up on Sam's potty habits and want to go that way.
Sam brought me a pair of his underwear last week and wanted to wear them. So I let him. And he's wet them maybe twice a day since because I wasn't paying attention. That's 2 times out of atleast 30. The kid pees like a water buffalo. He's pretty good at telling me when he needs to go, so it makes it easier. I took him on an errand yesterday sans underwear and he didn't pee himself at all! Yay! Granted that we peed in the parking lot before going in the store, used the bathroom in the store, then the parking lot again before leaving. Bahha! Get over yourself if you think that's gross. What's gross is having to take apart the carseat to wash it. Good times. I'm thinking another week and we'll have this down.
Sam also talks in sentences. He says some hilarious stuff. We don't have conversations, but he answers questions, points to things and can say what they are, and narrates when somebody does something. Lately he's been saying "Put it in my mouth" as in, whatever food we are eating at the moment. Yeah, my kids are scavengers.
He started jumping too! That was an exciting milestone!
He also loves our fish tank. Steve has a really nice tank going on, not just some cutesy fish bowl. It's been fun to have. There are several large snails in there that suck on the sides, so you can see their little mouths going. Sam calls them "bee nails" aka "big snails". I showed Sam their mouths the other day and he pointed it out and said "mouth" today! It was really cute and cool that he remembered. He has great retention and has been repeating everything.
Gotta go, naptime is over!
Pictures eventually.
