Anyways, it was a very eventful drive to Georgia. I had a blow out in West Memphis on the side of I-55. Just me, Sam, and a shredded tire. As I was sitting on the side of the road I remembered a a piece of mail that came a few months ago. It was from AAA. Yeah, that would be useful right now had I signed up for it. Luckily my mom has National Motor Club and she sent someone to rescue me. It took the guy 45 minutes to get out there. He wanted to know if I had this rod in my car so that he could get the spare tire out from underneath it. Yeah, sure, I knew exactly what he was talking about. Not. I call Stephen, no idea either. I´m thinking, ¨isn´t this dude´s job changing tires and such. Shouldn´t he have this kind of tool?¨ My thought was followed by him saying, ¨I thought about buying this rod because I´ve had this happen to several people recently.¨ Ugh, real helpful now. I ask the guy, ¨well can you go get me a tire?¨ I mean, he was already out there and he´s supposed to help me right? No, he said he was sent out there to change a tire and that is the extent of his services. So, he leaves! Yes! I´m thinking, oh crap, I can´t believe he just left me! I´m alone with Sam and a flat tire on the side of this ridiculously busy highway. Everytime a car would drive past us my car would rock back and forth, which happened about every 10 seconds. So, my mom calls again and they are going to send a tow truck. But they have to send two, one for the Explorer and one for the trailer. The second one will cost extra. Ugh again.
I´m sitting there thinking that this will take forever when Steve calls me back; he remembers where the rod is. This freakin thing was in the back flap of the back seat clamped to the bottom of it. It´s not like a seat pocket, it´s like a hidden compartment that I never knew was there! Ok, yay, no tow trucks. Call mom back, they´ll call the guy back. He´d only been gone 2 minutes, no joke.
45 minutes later...he´s back and changes my tire. Thankfully Sam was soooo good during all of this. I didn´t take him out of the car seat just to be safe. I´ve seen videos of cars that are on the side of the road getting hit, yikes. I thought I´d rather have a screaming child then one flying out the window.
So, yay, I´m back on the road. Stephen calls to check on me. It´s been 2 1/2 hours since the blow out. He is afraid the spare tire might have dry rot because it is apparently very old. He wants me to stop and get all new tires. Sam´s asleep. I safely make it to Tupelo where the Wal-Mart people are incredibly nice and they change my tires in 20 minutes. Swipe credit card, declined. Swipe, decline. Swipe, decline. Crap. Call credit card company. They put a block on it just incase my card had been stolen. Ok, thanks, unblock me. Swipe, yay, on our way.

Jtlyk, there are NO visible Starbucks from Tupelo to Atlanta. I know I´m pregnant and I try to avoid the caffeine, but I was getting to my mom´s whether I was awake naturally or by stimulants! A caramel latte was my only chance of getting there safely. Yeah, yeah, I´m a coffee snob when it comes to drinking it, which is rare so I have the right to be picky.
Finally, finally get to my mom´s at 1 am. Sam wakes up at 7 am. Yay.

I know that was super long, but I was re-living it as I was typing, lol.
I had a really good time at my mom´s. I stayed almost a week extra. I got to hang out with her and Shelby a lot. Shelby had Sam cracking up the last night I was there. He has almost 8 teeth now and the cutest gap I´ve ever seen. He´s babbling so much. He´ll talk all day in his own little language.
Thursday I was 14 weeks and officially in the 2nd trimester. I´ve been way less nauseas, but my acid reflux/heartburn has kicked up a few notches. Thank you Zantac. I felt Sam move at 14 weeks, so I was pleasantly surprised to feel this little guy/girl move last week too. I never got the whole butterfly/flutters feelings. My babies will thump me, like a poke or knocking. It´s weird and very distinct, so I know it´s not gas. Still no doctor visit. I´m hoping my Medicaid will go through soon, but I´m still cool with no doc. Probably by the time I go to the doc will be the gender ultrasound day. That would be a fun first doctor visit.

Wow! That whole experience sounds extremely sucky! I'm impressed that you loaded up a trailer and tied everything down and drove by yourself all the way from Georgia! You're such a grown up! :)
I can't believe you were in Tupelo and DIDN'T CALL ME!!! Loser!!! But I am VERY impressed that you made that trip by yourself... not in a million years would I attempt that!
It´s not like I was there to enjoy scenic Tupelo, Sarah :)
I actually thought of you both times I drove through there though. Does that count for anything? I´ve driven there and back with Sam several times now. Once you get a routine with a baby you can pretty much do anything with the right timing.
