No Spend Month - Day 5

I know it hasn't been a whole week yet, but I feel the need to update on our progress.

I've only spent a small portion of my Grocery Budget.
$0 of my allowance money! Woo hoo!

And jtlyk, last night I went thru the Chic-fil-a drive thru with Kerri and only got a water as opposed to anything that wasn't free. Then we strolled around Target right before they closed and refrained from buying anything. Including the excellent markdowns they have on tissue paper, gift bags, and wrapping paper. Just a hint for you Conway people. It's a good deal.
I felt pretty good walking out of there knowing that:
a) Target has $0 of my money and
b) I don't have a bunch of paper that I don't need.

Today I made an executive business decision and took the $100 that I took off of my Grocery Budget that I was going to put in savings and "invested" some of it. I will hopefully be doubling that "investment" at the end of this month which will then make it's way into the savings.
Fine, fine, I hit the Kroger clearance aisle and loaded up with super marked-down baby stuff that I'm going to resale at the upcoming consignment sale. There's my secret!! Happy!?!

*ahem*

Stephen has chosen to spend about $15 of his allowance money. I asked him if he was going to flake out on me when he runs out of money and he said definitely not. Good good!
And maybe if I keep saving my money I can loan it to him and charge him interest!

Some projects that I've gotten done as a result of NSM:
  • Painted 90% of front/dining room with primer.
  • Kids clothes completely sorted through and organized into tubs. Condensed from 3 tubs and 2 laundry baskets to 2 tubs. Organized clothes in dressers. (Thank you Kerri the motivator!)
  • Picked out clothes for consignment sale at the end of the month.
Anyone else doing any kind of saving/no spending/ect?
How's it going for you?
